Nice to Get that Over With
I threw a surprise birthday dinner party at a steak house last night. The invite specified that I was paying for dinner which was to be hamburgers/onion rings/fries/birthday cake and coke/tea. I didn't want to wind up buying that many people steak dinners and who knew how many pitchers of beer.
Only two people had hamburgers...me and mom. The rest had steak. Throwing a party in a steak house wasn't the best idea.
Luckily a woman recognized the pained expression on my face for what it was. She and her husband picked up the tab for beer saving over $100. One couple paid for their own steak...another unexpected bonus. My sister had a great time and that is what counts.
Next year, she is getting cake, coffee and a gift...that is it!
