It snowed! In this area of Texas it hardly ever snows...but it snowed! Of course it melted shortly after hitting the ground leaving a muddy mess, but it was pretty for a while.

A mountain lion was spotted two miles from my house yesterday. A neighbor (raises cattle) had a calf that came up missing about two weeks ago. It was finally found up a tree where it had been dragged, presumably for safe keeping. The man who found it (an employee of the rancher) steadfastly refuses to go into that pasture again.

Yesterday the lion was actually seen. An amateur photographer was sitting under a tree in a field hoping to catch a few images of deer. What he saw instead was a mountion lion jump the fence and lay down in the sun at the other end of the field. Needless to say he did not move. Now I have this visual of walking outside and finding a mountion lion lounging on the deck.
