This is one of those 'had to be there' moments, but I'm posting it anyway. A stroll turned into a little adventure for my corgi this evening. I took a walk with my two corgi's Willie and Gabby and my lamb named Boo in the fields behind my house. A neighbor has about 30 young female lambs (not quite a year old) back there so it is a good place for my lamb.
Anyway...the three of us walked out into the field and past the little herd of lambs. I didn't really pay any attention to them other than to ensure that my dogs did not frighten them. As we walked on I heard galloping hoofs and turned to see an older lamb (Ro) that I had raised. She had decided to go for a walk with us. Boo thought Ro did not need to walk beside me, but otherwise we made a good little group. We walked on. Pretty soon I heard more sounds coming from behind. I peeked over my shoulder and the whole herd was back there! Every one of those lambs was taking a walk with us!
OK. I am thinking 'this is different' but assume that they are simply following Ro. We continued our walk. It was when my little dog Willie veered off to the side that I learned the truth. The entire herd followed him! They did not chase him or any of that. No, they were following him. He led them all over that field. When we stopped under a live oak they formed a semi-circle around him and waited. He looked at me with what can only be described as a doggie grin. They continued to walk with us till we left. Now I have a little corgi with attitude. 'I Make Sheep Move'
That ends my little corgi tale. Now I will go back to playing musical elves and see whether I can make three come before four.
