I Didn't Write It...The Gremlins Did!!!
Feb. 10th, 2005 04:56 pmI just received a reply on a comment that I made to a post. When I read what I'd originally written, I realized that it did not at all say what I'd been thinking. It was another 'I can't believe I said that' moments. It sounded as if I was calling something funny when it was really beautiful, passionate and wonderfully well written. The beginning contained some fun, but the way that my words read, it sounded like I thought the entire thing was a hoot. *hides head in shame*
Sometimes what is in my head just does not make it to paper or screen. A gremlin intercepts my thoughts and alters them to something alien and strange. Very thankful that there are people who will beta for my really stupid mistakes. I think that I may need a 24 hour all purpose beta to look at things before I hit send or post.
Yesterday there was an incident with a neighbor's lambs. Within a two hour time period, a dog killed ten adolescent lambs. He ripped them up. I've never seen that type of behavior in a dog before, but am assured that it has and does happen. The farmer was furious and his wife in tears and covered in blood. There is absolutely no way to make this better. The dog is a Kuvas that belongs to a neighbor. He agreed to keep an eye on him, but not to sell or give him away. This morning the farmer saw another dog, one of his own, take a lamb down and rip it. He shot the dog. It is not a good day for animals in this area and tension is high among neighbors. I am staying home and most definitely not taking my dogs for a walk among the neighbors sheep!
