Squirrel Strike...Anti-lock Victim
Dec. 2nd, 2010 02:54 pmSquirrels like pecans, peanuts, acorns and the like...right? My car's ABS light came on yesterday and stayed on. This morning I took it to the dealer thinking there was a problem with the anti-lock braking system. Turns out that while there was a problem, the car wasn't to blame. A squirrel chewed through the wiring. It was completely and cleanly severed. The mechanic warned that the little pest would return to the scene of the crime in all likelihood.
I bought a repellent that is supposed to irritate the animals sinuses and cause it to leave. I suppose it wasn't intended for use under the hood of a car, but since it is safe for plants I assume it is safe for car wiring. The product is intended to modify the animal's behavior, so here's hoping that it works.
Am I worried? Perhaps I should be but no. My adopted puppy comes home tomorrow!!! YaY! Everything else pales to the excitement of the moment.
