Storms and Dogs

As of last night...my big dog is afraid of thunder. Last night, thunder rattled the roof a few times, but it didn't really matter how close or far. The sound scared him. He started by making odd sounds. He panted, shivered, made odd sounds, chewed and pawed the bed/lamp/dresser, and tried to hide but stay by my side all night. He stopped at a little after 3.  I have some chews that are supposed to calm dogs in stressful situations. They didn't work.  Must find ear muffs for dogs.
