Moving Them Out
Jan. 9th, 2005 05:08 pmNot that long ago, me and my dogs moved to the country from a metropolitan area. I know almost nothing about country life, so when a rancher asked a favor, I was thrilled but totally intimidated. He asked that I herd his livestock out of the field and back into pastures. Silly me. My first thought was 'how hard can it be' so I accepted.
Herding on a four wheeler might be fun, but the field was sooo bumpy. The animals did *not* want to go and hid at every opportunity. Finally it seemed they were all out, and what do you know, there are more! Thought I had it done, was on my way back, and found a little one that could only walk with great difficulty.
Picked him up and draped him across the seat of the four wheeler and got him to his anxious mother.
So, yaaaay me! I herded livestock!
