Praising Firefighters and Relief at Last

It finally rained. In my area, it was only half an inch. Others got more and thankfully so. The temp is in the 50's today...a big change from Saturday when my back porch showed 106! Most of all though, the fires are being contained. The change in weather patterns has given firefighters the chance to get the current fires under control. I can't praise the men and women working to contain these blazes enough. In +100 heat with winds gusting to 40 mph, they have worked tirelessly to save people, animals and structures while thousands of acres burned. Only two of my friends lost their homes. One wasn't a main residence. A few others suffered damage to their residence but nothing major. All this was thanks to the hard work of firefighters from Texas and across the United States. They are a very special breed of person and I'm so very thankful for them.
